Why Mental Health & Fair Trade are important to us

Hey there, great to have you here! At Incubuss Fashion, it's not just about clothes, it's about values and building a community. We're a small, alternative fashion label with a big mission: to create fashion that not only looks good but also does good. For us, genuine values aren't a short-lived trend, but the foundation of our actions. Two of these values are particularly important to us: Fair Trade and Mental Health. Why are mental health and fair trade an integral part of our brand? Find out more here.

Fair Trade: Fair fashion instead of fast fashion

Mountains of discarded clothing in the Chilean Atacama Desert – a reminder of the throwaway mentality of the fast fashion industry.

A lot is going wrong in the fashion industry: Millions of people work for low wages under poor conditions just so we can buy the latest trends ever faster. Less than 2% of the world's approximately 75 million textile workers earn a living wage – an unsustainable situation. Added to this are environmental problems such as massive mountains of waste from used clothing piling up in places like the Chilean Atacama Desert (see image above). Fair trade is our answer to this.

For us, fair trade means taking responsibility. Fair pay and safe working conditions are essential to us – we work exclusively with partners who guarantee transparency and create decent jobs. Our products are manufactured responsibly in Portugal, where respect for people and the environment is paramount . In concrete terms, this means: production from organic cotton, fair wages, high social standards, and plastic-free shipping. We consciously position ourselves against fast fashion, because fashion should not be created at the expense of people and nature . Instead of short-lived trends, we focus on quality, durability, and production that is fair to everyone involved.

It's encouraging to see that more and more young people are thinking similarly. According to a study , 50% of Gen Z are willing to pay a premium for Fair Trade-certified products —they want their purchasing behavior to have a positive impact. When you shop at Incubuss Fashion, you're supporting exactly that: a movement toward fair fashion that respects human rights and our planet. You're showing that sustainable and alternative fashion don't have to be contradictory, but can go hand in hand.

Mental Health: More than just clothing

For us, fashion is more than just clothing – it expresses your identity and should make you feel good. That's why, as a brand, we are consciously committed to the topic of mental health . We know how important it is to talk openly about mental health and feel supported – especially in the alternative scene, where many of us are familiar with our own struggles.

In fact, a recent survey shows that Gen Z suffers the most from stress of all generations. So it's no wonder that 71% of young people are in favor of brands actively addressing mental health . We believe this is exactly how it should be! Fashion can be a statement—not just in terms of style, but also in terms of compassion, authenticity, and community. Our aesthetic may be dark and alternative, but our values shine brightly: empathy and solidarity.

What does this mean specifically for Incubuss Fashion? Firstly, we collaborate with organizations like Irrsinnig Menschlich and the Action Alliance for Mental Health. Secondly, we want to create a community where everyone feels supported . We want you to know: You are not alone, and it's completely okay not to always be okay . Our long-term goal is to work with organizations in the field of mental health to raise awareness and actively help. Because well-being begins not only with what we wear, but also with the impact we have on society.

We also want to share cool stuff on social media—feel free to check out our Instagram channel , where we regularly post about mental health, fair fashion, and our latest campaigns. There you can connect with like-minded people and become part of our supportive community.

Conclusion

Incubuss Fashion is more than just a fashion label. We combine dark aesthetics with bright values – fairness, sustainability, and mindfulness. Mental health and fair trade are simply part of it for us because we believe in fashion that respects people and the environment and makes a positive contribution. When you wear our clothes, you also carry these values – and show the world that style and attitude can go hand in hand. Thank you for walking this path with us. Stay true to yourself, make a statement, and remember: True values are timeless – they are not a trend, but a promise. Welcome to the Incubuss Fashion Community!
